Apple Accused Steal Trademark of IPAD

TU - A Chinese company called Proview Technology has accused Apple of violating trademark rights. Manufacturer of touch screens, says it was the owner of the rights to the name iPad in China.

Local newspaper, the Beijing News, reports that Proview Technology, based in the southern city of Shenzhen has registered the name iPad in January 2000. And until recently, they still become the owner of that name to be used in China.

"The decision to sell Apple iPad in China is illegal and arrogant," said Yang Rongshan as Director Proview Technology, as reported by AFP and quoted on Thursday (10/28/2010).

Meanwhile, Li Su, one of the Proview Technology shareholder-owned company has asked Steve Jobs was immediately cease these violations and create a new negotiation with Proview Technology.

"If not, we will ask the authorities to seize all Apple products," Li said, adding that threatened the fair price for trademark iPad currently reached USD 800 million.

In its report, the Beijing News said the two companies had previously been discussing the possibility of transfer of the brand, but failed to find agreement.

Until today, a spokesman for Apple in China is not willing to provide information related to this offense.
